How can I purchase a membership?

There are three ways to purchase a membership:

  • On our website: Select the “Become a Student” button on our main menu, select your home market, and navigate to the membership or package you’d like to purchase. Next, you’ll be prompted to create an account with us or sign into an existing one. Once you are signed in simply proceed with your purchase!
  • On our app: Download our FREE app and create or log in to an account. Once you’re logged in, tap the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top lefthand corner of your screen and select “Pricing.” Navigate to the membership or package you’d like to purchase, and proceed!
  • In the studio: Come into any of our studios during business hours and a member of our team can get you set up!

I’m on an unlimited membership. How do I use my Bring a Friend passes?

  • Bring a Friend passes are a perk for our Unlimited Auto Renew and Annual members (standard and PREMIUM).
  • Members will see a “Bring Friend” button below each class for which they’re enrolled. Enter your friend’s name, email, and phone number. (Please be sure not to enter your own information here, as that will negatively impact your account).  That’s it!  Your friend will receive an email confirmation and be prompted to download our app.
  • We will allow you to bring the same friend to class with you one time per cycle. For example, Jane’s friend John came to class with him in March using a Buddy Pass. The next time John will be able to use one of Jane’s Buddy Passes is when her cycle renews in April.
  • If you’re not seeing the Bring a Friend button, try updating our app to the latest version. Please contact us if the issue persists even after updating your app.

How do I cancel my membership?

We’re sorry to see you go! We require 30-day written notice to cancel all Auto Renew contracts. Please fill out our Contact Us form and a member of our team will be in touch.

Class FAQs

Am I going to sweat?

The short answer? Probably, yes. We suggest wearing lightweight, comfortable workout attire that you feel comfortable moving in and don’t mind getting sweaty. Stay hydrated during class. Bring a water bottle or buy one from us for $2. A hand towel or shower towel might also be helpful for sweaty palms or feet. We also have those available to rent at the front desk.

What if I need to take a break during class?

We get it! It’s important to listen to your body, and sometimes your body needs a breather. It is always okay to take a quick break during class in child’s pose.

Can I shower at Power Life after class?

Of course! Our changing rooms have lockers, showers and lavatories for students’ use. We encourage students to leave all their belongings in the locker room, we also have locks available upon request at the front desk.

Please keep in mind that studio doors will lock 20 minutes after class. We kindly ask that you limit your time in the locker room. Thank you for helping us respect our teachers time!

I’m a complete beginner. Can I do Power Yoga?

Absolutely. We want beginners to come and experience everything Power Life has to offer. All of our classes are open to all levels, but our Power 1 class is a great place to start. This is a semi-heated, beginner level class that provides instruction to proper posture alignment and is a good introduction to Power Yoga.

I’m not flexible. Can I do yoga?

You don’t have to be flexible to start a yoga practice. Flexibility is something that Power Yoga builds for you. It is a journey not a destination.

Will workouts at Power Life be physically challenging?

Our classes are based in Power Yoga, which is a fast-paced and challenging type of yoga. It’s not just stretching in a hot room! Power Yoga is a physical practice that combines all facets of physical fitness and healthy well-being. We have taken traditional yoga and made it faster, harder and way more fun – but we certainly have not left out the mental aspects. Get ready to sweat and challenge your body and mind in new ways.

Can you tell me more about the heat?

The majority of our classes are taught in a heated or semi-heated room. We really like it HOT, but trust that there is intention for the temperature of each class type. We also train our teachers how to control the heat for the safety of all students. Benefits of practicing in a heated environment include: It helps stretch muscle fibers; It aids in injury prevention; It helps eliminate toxins from the body; It increases your heart rate for added challenge; It enhances your metabolism.

What are the benefits of practicing Power Yoga?

Well, there truly are countless benefits from starting a yoga practice of any kind! Power Yoga, in particular, works the entire body and improves strength, balance, flexibility, core power and mental wellbeing. The physical improvements are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Power Yoga. Other benefits include stress reduction, increased blood circulation, detoxification and improved sleep.

My child wants to attend class with me. Is that allowed?

If your child is between 12-16 years of age, he or she can attend class with you or another adult. As with any workout, however, we encourage you to consult a physician about the effects of the heat before bringing your child to any class.

Do teachers offer hands-on assists?

Our instructors are encouraged to offer hands-on assists during all classes. If you are interested in receiving assists, grab one of the assisting cards from the holder near the back of your classroom and place it at the top of your mat. At the end of class, place your card back into the holder so a member of our staff can disinfect it. If you are not interested in receiving hands-on assists, there is no need to do anything. Your instructor will respect your wishes and encourage you in other ways throughout class. If you’d like to learn more about how and why we assist at Power Life, check out this blog post.

What should I wear to class?

We suggest wearing lightweight, comfortable workout attire that you feel comfortable moving in and don’t mind getting sweaty.

Pre-registration FAQs

What if I forget or choose not to pre-register for class?

Typically, there will be room for you should you ever forget or choose not to pre-register, but we make no guarantees, especially during our busier times of day (i.e. early mornings, right after work). Please make sure you check in at the front desk upon your arrival so the instructor can see if there is space for you in class. If there’s not, there’s often another class that starts shortly!

How do I pre-register for class?

The best way to sign up for classes is by using our FREE app. To sign up on our app, please follow these steps:

  • STEP 1: Open the Power Life app. (Make sure you are using our NEW app. The icon is a white flame on an orange background!) Log in using the email and password we have on file in our system. If you do not have an account, please use the email address you’d like us to use to contact you.
  • STEP 2: Go to the “Book” tab and find the class you’d like to attend.
  • STEP 3: Click the yellow “Book” button. (Or, if the class is full, tap the gray “Waitlist” button.)
  • STEP 4: On the next screen, confirm your desire to book class by clicking “Book it!”
  • STEP 5: You’re all set! If you are added to class after being on a waitlist, you will be notified via text message that you’ve been added to the roster. In the text message, you are asked to confirm that you still want to take class by responding Y or N. Please don’t forget to confirm!

You can also sign up for classes on our website. To do that, please navigate to “Book a Class” on our main menu. Heads up, you must have an active package or membership to register for class. If your membership is on suspension please contact us to lift it.

How do I pay for classes?

If you have an active Auto Pay membership or class package (5-Pack, 10-Pack, etc.)you’re covered! You can also pay for a drop-in or an intro week using our app.

If you are on suspension, you will need to un-suspend your membership before you can take class. Please contact us using this form and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

The class I want to take is full. What do I do?

Add yourself to the waitlist! We encourage everyone to use the waitlist function for a couple reasons:

  • A spot might open up for you.
  • Waitlists help us determine the times and days people would most like to practice so we can add classes to the schedule.

I’m on the waitlist. Now what?

If a spot opens up for you, you will be asked via text message to confirm if you want to take the class. Responding with “Y” means, “Yay, I’ll see you there!” Responding with “N” means, “No, but hopefully the next person in line can take class!” You will not be charged a late-cancellation fee if you respond with “N”.

We kindly ask that you do always respond to the text message. If you can’t make it but don’t let us know, we will not know it’s okay to contact the next person in line about coming to class.

I’m not getting alerts when I am added to a class from a waitlist. Why is that?

Chances are, we have either incorrect contact information, or you have opted out of receiving these types of communication from Power Life. Please contact us so a member of our team can assist you with updating your contact preferences.

I suspended my Auto Renew membership, but I’m ready to come back! How do I lift my suspension?

We’re so excited to have you back! Please contact us using this form and a member of our team will lift your suspension. Remember, you will not be able to register for classes without an active membership or class package, so this is an important step!

How do I check in for class?

We love to put names to faces! Please check in with your instructor at the front desk when you arrive at the studio.

What if I can’t make it to a class I signed up for?

We have a 2-hour cancellation policy. This means you can cancel anytime between the time you sign up and 2 hours before class. To cancel your class, simply tap the black “Cancel” button on the home screen of your app.

Because we limit the capacity of our classes, we do enforce a $7.99 cancellation/no-show fee*. A late cancellation/no-show will also deduct a class from a class package (10-Pack, 5-Pack, etc.). This fee is to make it fair for all students who wish to take class and to prevent noshows

*Everyone gets 1 free late cancellation per year, premium auto-renew and premium annual members get 1 free late cancellation per month.

I have a membership/class package, why am I unable to sign up for class?

If you have a membership but you are prompted to purchase a package when you try to sign up for class, there are a few things you can check:

  • Double check that you are signed into the app using the email address and password that we have on file at the studios.
  • If you suspended your membership, please email or call the studio to lift your suspension.
  • If you’ve been using a 10-Pack, make sure that you still have classes left on your package.
  • If none of the above apply to you, fill out this form to contact us!

Studio FAQs

Can you tell me about your cleaning protocols?

We have always had high standards when it comes to cleaning! The disinfectant we use on all surfaces throughout the studio has a 30second kill time, which means it only takes 30 seconds for it to wipe out germs. After each class we clean floors, door handles, thermostats, and all hightraffic or hightouch areas with this disinfectant. We have limited props for use (hand weights, blocks and straps), all of which are also cleaned after each use with our disinfectant.

What should I know before coming to class?

  • Because we require preregistrationthere is no need to come too early. If you’re signed up for class, you know you have a spot! We recommend arriving no earlier than 10 minutes before your class starts.
  • Our instructors are encouraged to offer hands-on assists during all classes.
  • Please bring a mat, water bottle and sweat towel with you for class. We do have those items available to purchase or rent if you do not own them or forget them at home.
  • Disconnect! Please leave your phone, keys, wallet, etc. out of the studio space. If possible, we also encourage you to put your smartwatch on “Do Not Disturb” mode during class.

Do I have to bring my own equipment?

We recommend bringing your own mat, sweat towel and water bottle if you are able. But we know life happens, so we’ve got you covered if you forget something or do not own those items. We provide all other equipment you will use during class (i.e. hand weights, blocks, yoga straps, etc.)

Do you have locker rooms?

Yes! All of our studios have locker rooms with restrooms and showers. You are welcome to bring your own lock or we have them available at our front desk. Please leave your belongings (including your phone please!) in the locker rooms or the available cubbies in our lobbies.

Please keep in mind that studio doors will lock 20 minutes after class. We kindly ask that you limit your time in the locker room. Thank you for helping us respect our teachers time!

What kind of ventilation system do you have?

We have always been committed to providing our students with a first-class experience. We have fresh-air HVAC systems in all of our studios. These systems constantly bring fresh air in from the outside, heat that air to 190 degrees F, and then pump it into the studios. What does that mean? It means that you will never be surrounded by recycled, heavy, sweat-scented air that you experience most often at group fitness studios.

If you would like to learn more about our fresh-air HVAC system, check out this blog post!

About Kirk:

Kirk was working 80-hour weeks and wearing his shoulders as earrings when he found yoga in 2005. Forever the competitive athlete, he loved the physicality of yoga. When the spiritual and philosophical side of yoga were exposed to him, Kirk was hooked. Yoga provided him with what other activities couldn’t -- the ability to foster the benefits of practice both on and off of the mat. Yoga was something that Kirk could bring into all aspects of his life.

Kirk knows that yoga can be intimidating, so he crafts a class that is playful and inviting, while still being challenging and safe. His creatively planned classes build strength and flexibility in your body and mind while establishing clarity, giving you more confidence to overcome obstacles in your life, and keeping you injury-free. His classes are themed with a message that is relatable and will inspire you to take it with you off your mat. Kirk has been teaching yoga since 2008 and lead his first teacher training in 2012. Where Kirk truly shines is in coaching, developing and bringing out the best in others.

Kirk enjoys traveling (40+ countries to date!), snowboarding, and cherishes time with his wife and two daughters.

About Christen:

Christen Bakken’s yoga journey began in 1998 in a Bikram studio that provided a safe and secure place to practice. She saw the yoga mat as a place to remember her purpose and a place to play. As she continued her studies and began her journey to teaching in 2006, Christen infused yoga classes with devotion and the yoga mat became a place of personal transformation and healing. Her classes are filled with laughter, song, sweat, and usually heart openers. In 2013, Christen began training yoga teachers. This is the place where she finds the most joy - in community with folks looking to grow and be of greater service in their homes, on their mats, and in the world. Over the years, she has led trainings in Denver, the Midwest, Florida, and now abroad. She has trained in continuing education modules, 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour programs. Beyond the mat, Christen is a passionate adventure seeker - she loves to bike, snowboard, and spend time with her husband and pups. She sees each day as a blessing and hopes to remind all who interact with her of this truth.
