We all know there are two kinds of people. Those that start holiday shopping in August and those that are scrambling in December to find the perfect gift for their friends and family. Admittedly, I’m the latter. While a Starbucks gift card or cute Target coffee mug is always a safe bet no matter who you’re shopping for, there are so many great gift ideas for the active loved ones in your life! To make it easy, we’ve compiled a list of our top ten ideas. The best part? These are all under $50!
Insulated Water Bottle. Whether you’re taking a heated class at Power Life or just going on a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, an insulated water bottle is a must. My personal favorite are Hydroflasks because they are super durable and offer a straw lid option, plus they come in various colors and sizes! Similar to a coffee mug, you can never have too many water bottles!
Hair Accessories. You can’t go wrong here! Headbands and scrunchies are good for all kinds of physical activity whether you enjoy HIIT workouts, yoga, or just walks around the house . After a lot of trial and error, Lululemon headbands seem to stay on your head the best through all kinds of activity and hold up over time, even after a lot of use! Claw clips are also a great way to spruce up a quick up-do after a lunch-time workout class or if you just don’t feel like doing your hair in the morning. Any of these would be great stocking stuffer or gift exchange items!
Bombas Socks. Can you ever have too many socks? The answer is absolutely not. A sure sign of getting older is appreciating a nice pair of socks! Bombas are always a staple gift in our family with all different kinds of options, colors, and sizes!
Face Ice Roller. This is a great gift for all ages! These face ice rollers help reduce puffiness and feel relaxing which can be helpful if you’re up early to get in some physical activity before the day starts. They are also helpful in reducing redness which can be helpful, especially after a lunch-time Sculpt class at Power Life!
Small Wallet. This is a must have for any active person on the go! This small wallet can clip on to keys or your water bottle so that you don’t have to lug around a big wallet or purse while running errands, going on a jog at the park, or running into the studio. Additionally, a small wallet is super easy to hide when leaving your things in a locker room or cubby!
Easy Throw On and Go Jacket. Another necessary staple for the fitness lover in your life! Having an easy jacket that you can throw on in the colder months and that you’re not afraid to sweat in post-class, is a game changer! This jacket is also a great option for joggers/runners that may want layers with the option to tie around your waist once you’re nice and warmed up.
Slide On Shoes. Whether it’s 20 degrees or 90 degrees, I wear slides year around! They are great for lounging around and running errands – don’t be embarrassed to rock socks and slides in the winter! All the cool kids are doing it. Having an easy pair of shoes like these are great for wearing to class at Power Life, wearing in the sauna at the gym, and stepping outside to get some fresh air during the middle of the day.
Basic Workout Tank. Nothing beats a solid, basic work out tank. Whether you’re headed to a Barre class, Restore, or Power 2, this tank is a great option. It is also a great option for athleisure wear when running errands or just lounging around at home. Not to mention, it also pairs perfectly with the jacket linked above!
Foam Roller. Everyone should have one of these! Foam rollers have a lot of benefits, especially when used regularly. They are a great way to stretch, ease muscle soreness, reduce inflammation, and can help with overall mobility. This is a great gift idea for those that do both high and low intensity physical activity!
Yoga Mat Towel. A great gift for the yoga lover in your life, especially if they enjoy hot yoga. Yoga mat towels can help preserve the life of your yoga mat by capturing most of the sweat and can also help prevent any slippage on your mat the hotter that it gets. These can also be used as a sweat towel in class or at the gym making it a two-for-one-gift.
Can’t make up your mind? Don’t worry, we got you! Power Life gift cards make an awesome gift (bonus, they are on 20% off until 12/25!)
If you’re the person who finished shopping in August, hopefully these ideas are helpful for next year’s holiday season! If you’re still scrambling to finish out your shopping, good luck – you’ve got this!

Kirk was working 80-hour weeks and wearing his shoulders as earrings when he found yoga in 2005. Forever the competitive athlete, he loved the physicality of yoga. When the spiritual and philosophical side of yoga were exposed to him, Kirk was hooked. Yoga provided him with what other activities couldn’t -- the ability to foster the benefits of practice both on and off of the mat. Yoga was something that Kirk could bring into all aspects of his life.
Kirk knows that yoga can be intimidating, so he crafts a class that is playful and inviting, while still being challenging and safe. His creatively planned classes build strength and flexibility in your body and mind while establishing clarity, giving you more confidence to overcome obstacles in your life, and keeping you injury-free. His classes are themed with a message that is relatable and will inspire you to take it with you off your mat. Kirk has been teaching yoga since 2008 and lead his first teacher training in 2012. Where Kirk truly shines is in coaching, developing and bringing out the best in others.
Kirk enjoys traveling (40+ countries to date!), snowboarding, and cherishes time with his wife and two daughters.
Christen Bakken’s yoga journey began in 1998 in a Bikram studio that provided a safe and secure place to practice. She saw the yoga mat as a place to remember her purpose and a place to play. As she continued her studies and began her journey to teaching in 2006, Christen infused yoga classes with devotion and the yoga mat became a place of personal transformation and healing. Her classes are filled with laughter, song, sweat, and usually heart openers. In 2013, Christen began training yoga teachers. This is the place where she finds the most joy - in community with folks looking to grow and be of greater service in their homes, on their mats, and in the world. Over the years, she has led trainings in Denver, the Midwest, Florida, and now abroad. She has trained in continuing education modules, 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour programs. Beyond the mat, Christen is a passionate adventure seeker - she loves to bike, snowboard, and spend time with her husband and pups. She sees each day as a blessing and hopes to remind all who interact with her of this truth.
