The Power Life Community

We believe in building a community that is energized by the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. We believe in the power of human connection and encourage our students to spend time getting to know one another on a personal level. Learn more about the growing Power Life community below.

Giving Back

Although we offer many different classes, Power Life’s foundation is and always will be yoga. Yoga can surely help you better yourself as an individual, but we believe yoga also provides an opportunity to work together to make the world a better place, starting in our own communities. Power Life knows that it’s people who make our studios thrive, and that’s why we believe it is important to support the areas where our students live and work. We are inspired by the amazing people around us and it motivates us everyday to make the world a better place.

Power Life has raised or given over $100,000 to local charities like:

  • Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Central Iowa
  • The Hannah Geneser Foundation
  • The Animal Rescue League of Iowa
  • West Des Moines Community Schools
  • The American Cancer Society
  • The Give Back Yoga Foundation
  • And more!

We have donated more than 600 class packages (totaling close to 4,000 classes) at a cost of almost $60,000 to organizations like:

  • ALS Association
  • Rally Against Cancer
  • The Iowa Clinic Healthcare Foundation
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Living Beyond Breast Cancer
  • And more!

For over five years, we have offered more than 1,500 free classes inside our studios and more than 800 classes outside of or doors (that’s one free class per day!) to businesses, parks, schools, events, prisons, day cares, charities, health events, races, walks/runs and even the Iowa State Fair.

We never wanted to be some anonymous yoga studio. We want to be an integral part of our community, and that means assuming some of the responsibility for making it great. We promote healthy minds and bodies, which in turn helps build healthy neighborhoods where people are happy and free. We give back because our home has given so much to us, more than we could ever repay. But that doesn’t stop us from trying.
